For Students who are currently employed by Recreation and Sport Operations
Recreation and Sport Operations values student development and leadership and has set aside funds to financially support events/training that are considered necessary for employment or will otherwise benefit the student and the department. This may include a workshop, training, conference, certification, bringing in a trainer or speaker, or hosting a certification or training. Recreation and Sport Operations reserves the right to deny, partially fund, or fully fund requests. All requests must have the support of the supervisor.
If approved, student must pay for the event/training out of pocket and will be reimbursed for the approved amount after successfully attending or completing the event/training. All travel and meals must be arranged and approved in advance by the Recreation and Sport Operations Financial Specialist.
· Applications for funding should be received at least 2-weeks before the event/training takes place and must have the approval of their supervisor.
· Students receiving funding may be asked to give a short presentation to their department, the Recreation Staff or the Recreation Advisory Council on what they learned.
The application automatically submits to the Supervisor selected for their approval. Applicants will be notified by the Recreation and Sport Operations Financial Specialist within a week on the status of their funding request.
